About Marie Sontag – Bringing the Past to Life

me500

I’ve always had difficulty going to sleep at night, so I’d make up stories to help me doze off. Then, when my younger sister and I shared a room, she’d ask me to tell her stories and I couldn’t resist! As a kid, I’d write stories during the long hot summer months and dreamed of becoming a writer someday. Reality set in when, as an adult, I had bills to pay,  so I became a teacher and sold a few short stories on the side. After I married and had two children of my own, Aglow Publications published my first book, When Love is Not Perfect, a book for adults about recovering from the effects of abuse. My real passion, however, is writing middle grade and young adult historical fiction.

Before writing full-time, I taught middle school for 16 years, and I can still say that middle school students are the best! I have a B.A. in social science, an M.A. in Instructional Technology, and a Ph.D, in Instructional Design for Online Learning.

    Dear Marie Sontag,

At this moment I am following a part-time master degree in Learning and Innovation. One of the assignments is to design a course. In my research for models, I came across your SCCS model. I think it is very interesting. Of course I found the information on your websites. It is difficult to find more information on the SCCS model. Are there more examples where the model is used, besides your dissertation?

I would like use the model for redesign of my course on Fluid Dynamics.
